What do you like about Kogarah and the locals?

I love its cultural diversity. It’s very cosmopolitan. We have everything to enjoy a really sustainable lifestyle within walking distance: cafes, restaurants, shops, medical, dental, and pharmacy. Kogarah is well connected to public transport and only twenty minutes by rail to the Sydney CBD. 

How did your passion for Dentistry arise?

I’m the practice manager and I look after patient information and admin. My wife is a dentist and very passionate believing that oral heath is integral to holistic health. We have another two additional dentists in the practice.

What new technologies have you brought with you?

We have an OPG (Orthopantomogram: this produces a panoramic view of the jaw onsite) to help diagnose on the spot and X-rays. With the help of scanning technology, we eliminate traditional impressions. Having a solid practice management software, helps me to manage our patient’s information easily.

How often should people have their teeth checked?

Six monthly check up and clean is recommended.

How has Covid-19 affected your surgery?

Our patients were very scared to come to see the dentists. They were delaying necessary dental treatments because of this. At the start of the Covid-19 outbreak, we had to close our clinics in April and May.

Kogarah has such a great community. What do you think makes it such a special place?

Kogarah is a suburb where we can see people from many different backgrounds. They bring their culture, food, language and so forth. Having a multicultural place is always special to us.

My recent visit to this dentist (Bruce McCray) was met with much trepidation and procrastination as my current dentist had retired. However Village Dental dentists are very caring and gentle. My fears were allayed with a completely painless experience.
